Itinerary

Day One: Welcome to the Wild

Arrive at Bamurru Plains and settle into your bush-inspired luxury. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner hosted by James Viles and the Bamurru team.

Day Two: Safari by Day, Feast by Night

Spend the day exploring the Top End’s floodplains on safari, encountering its incredible wildlife and landscapes. In the evening, sit down to a signature dinner prepared by James Viles, showcasing ingredients sourced from the region, and perhaps even the day’s foraging.

Day Three: Foraging & Flavour in the Field

Join James Viles and the Bamurru culinary team on a guided foraging experience through the property. Learn about the edible native flora, sustainable sourcing, and the deeper connection between land and flavour. Return for a farewell feast that brings your discoveries to life on the plate.

Day Four: A Gentle Farewell

Start the day with a final morning safari or simply relax and take in the stillness of the bush before your mid-morning departure.

Return Charter Flights

A return charter flight package between Darwin and Bamurru Plains is included for this departure.

Safari Bungalow (Fan-Cooled)

  • Twin Share – $5,995

Our ten Safari Bungalows offer the perfect blend of comfort while allowing guests to privately immerse in the natural surrounds. Surrounded by expansive mesh walls, we invite you to feel connected to the environment while ensuring your comfort and safety. From your king-sized bed, witness nature and wildlife from sunrise to the vast night sky.

Air-conditioned safari bungalows available upon request and availability.

Kingfisher Suite

  • Twin Share – $6,595

This is the largest of the safari bungalows. The Kingfisher Suite is three times the size, featuring a king size bed and a roomier interior with a private lounging and dining space. The Suite shares the signature ceiling to floor mesh walls, to immerse in the natural surrounds with wildlife all around.

Single occupancy rates are available upon request.

Reservations for children can be made upon request.

The Jabiru Retreat

  • Four Guests Twin Share – $6,095

Jabiru Retreat is a private, ‘camp within a camp’ experience featuring two safari bungalows connected via a raised walkway leading to an exclusive-use plunge pool. Alongside is an alfresco lounge and dining space with a view overlooking the lush plains that attract abundant wildlife including buffalo, agile wallabies, brumbies and an incredible variety of birdlife including magpie geese and the retreat’s namesake, the Jabiru.

Jabiru Retreat accommodates four adults, and up to an additional two children upon request in swag bed sleeping, catering to six guests in total. It is the ideal space for either two couples travelling together, a family with older children, multi-generational families or small groups of friends wanting their own space.
