COVID-19 IMPACT AT BAMURRU PLAINS

Covid Assurance Policy

We understand now more than ever that, sometimes, plans change. If you cancel outside 30 days, we will provide a full refund, less a $50 administration fee and credit card merchant fees (if you have chosen to settle your deposit by credit card).

Usually, cancellations within 30 days of arrival, all monies are forfeited. However, with the current COVID-19 pandemic and after medical advice, governments decide to apply quarantine conditions (including self-isolation orders) or close country or state borders; therefore, prohibiting you from travelling within 30 days of travel, we invite you to immerse yourself in our Top End landscape and join our Wild Bush Luxury experience at Bamurru Plains another time that suits your schedule. In this instance, you would also have the option of a refund.

The only caveat comes with cancellation fees imposed by third party operators at short notice. Most are very accommodating, particularly in the current climate. Still, we are not in the position to absorb costs if suppliers, like air charters bookings, do not extend full refunds.

Vaccination & Rapid Antigen Tests

We are committed to the safety of our guests, staff, and the remote local community. To minimise the risk of a COVID-19 case at Bamurru Plains, we require every guest’s negative Rapid Antigen Test result just before arrival. Therefore, we would ask that you complete a Rapid Antigen Self-test in Darwin either the night before or on the morning of your charter flight departure from Darwin to Bamurru. There are two options for this: 

  1. You can complete a Rapid Antigen Test the night before or on the day you travel to Bamurru Plains. On arrival at the air charter office, you will need to provide the staff member checking you in with a dated/timed photo of your negative test result next to your driving licence. Children without a license can photograph next to the license of their parent or guardian. Likewise on arrival at our main gate if you are self-driving. This option minimises the risk of a worst-case scenario of arriving at Bamurru Plains and having to immediately return to Darwin due to a positive result, or 
  2. If you cannot access a RAT kit beforehand, we will have them available at the air charter office and on arrival at our main gate if you are self-driving. A staff member will provide you with an ‘easy to use’ nasal swab test to self-administer. It should not take more than fifteen minutes, and a staff member will be on hand to help should you need guidance. You will then need to show the negative test result to the charter flight representative when checking in to your private charter flight or on arrival at our main gate if you are self-driving. 

If you cannot present a negative test result, we are afraid the air charter representative will not check you in for your flight. Nor the field guide picking you up for your transfer to the safari lodge. We would then advise on options for accommodation in Darwin and future arrangements or refunds on your booking.  

Should the government guidelines on close contact and self-isolation in the Northern Territory change, we will update our requirements accordingly. The last thing we want to do is add another requirement to your travel plans. Still, we are taking every step possible to avoid having to close our operation due to a COVID case on-site and protect the health of our guests and staff.
